Assistant Postmaster (Sanchy Post SO)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF ASSISTANT POSTMASTER (SO SB)
(Duty Hours – 10.00 to 18.00 hrs)

1.         To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register in the presence of Postmaster.
2          He will be In-charge of SOSB branch of Bhagalpur HO and exercise supervision on PA(SO SB).
3.         To be responsible for maintenance of his system and secrecy of his own password.
4.         To have adequate knowledge of computer and software to make best utilization of
provision made in hardware and software.
5.         To ensure that the latest version of software is being used in his branch – viz. Window
based system Sanchay Post.
6.         He will be jointly responsible for custody of Index cards/Ledger Cards/Specimen Signature etc. with the PAs (SO SB) in r/o all accounts /cards including silent accounts, closed, transferred, segregated, dormant cards etc.
7.         To ensure that all references including complaints cases/ transfer, opening, revival cases, issue of duplicate Passbook for its settlement objection raised by SBCO and other relevant correspondence are being attended properly and promptly by PAs under his control.
8.         To ensure prompt disposal of Inward/Outward ATS/Closure of revival/updating of Passbooks received from SOs.
9.         To be responsible for maintenance of
v  Error Book
v  Binder Top Sheet
v  Objection Register
v  Register of Pass Book (Receipts and Despatches)
v  Special Error Book
v  Register of verification of withdrawals of Rs.5000/- and above in r/o Single Handed SOs and arrange their supply to SOs.
10. To be responsible for prompt disposal of A.T. (Incoming/Outgoing) Revival of
      Accounts/Closure of Accounts and other related works.
11. He will be responsible for proper working of his branch and will sign all references of routine nature.
12. He will maintain Stock of Blank Pass Book of all types and supply of them to SOs as per requirement.
13. He will be responsible for checking of LOTs with vouchers to PA (SB Reference).for onward submission to SBCO.
14. He will be responsible for daily submission of returns to SBCO in respect of all types of accounts.
15. He will also maintain stock of SB-26 receipt book and arrange their supply to SOs.
16. To do all other duties as and when required by the Postmaster and Superintendent of
      Post Offices. 

Assistant Postmaster (Sub Account)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF APM (SUB ACCOUNTS)
(Duty Hours – 07.00 to 11.00 hrs and 15.00 to 18.00 hrs)

1.         To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register in the presence of Postmaster.
2          He will be In-charge of Sub Account branch of Bhagalpur HO and exercise supervision on PA(Sub Account), PA (SO Summary) and Treasury branch.
3.         To be responsible for maintenance of his system and secrecy of his own password.
4.         To have adequate knowledge of computer and software to make best utilization of
provision made in hardware and software.
5.         To be familiar with Meghdoot (Sub Accountant) as well as with the following packages-
(i)         Meghdoot (Point of sale) Module
(ii)        Meghdoot (Postman) Module
(iii)       Treasury Module
            (iv)       Sanchay Post Module
6.         To verify the remittances entries in the Daily Account at the end of day.
7.         To verify an entry manually to be passed in the computer as detailed in User manual.
8.         To adjust the transit or advance of the office.
9.         To find whether the PA (Sub Account) has correctly posted the entries in the Sub Account package or not.
10.       To check the cash sent figure of SOs and pass an entry in the option “SO Daily Account” and adjust the advance figure standing in the book of HO.
11.       To verify the remittance figures in the SO Daily Account and SO slip with reference to the figures noted in the Treasurer’s Cash Book using the following option-
(i)         Received from SO
(ii)        Sent to SO
12.       To add a new user, if required.
13.       To delete an incorrect figure, if required.
14.       To provide the list of closed holiday.
15.       To edit the opening balance, if any discrepancy is noticed.
16.       To allocate –SOs to operators for data entry purpose.
17.       To begin the day.
18.       To end the shift.
19.       To cancel the SO Slip, if the PA (Sub Account) does not correctly prepare it.
20.       To verify Error Entry made by PA(Sub Account)
21.       To maintain Calendar of Returns of his branch and be responsible for timely submission of Returns/Statements/Schedules with completed in all respect.
22.       He will receive the Dak of his branch and get them disposed of them by the concerned officials.
23.       To do all other duties of APM (Sub Accounts) as prescribed in Postal Manuals and/ or as and when directed by the Postmaster/Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhagalpur Dn.

Assistant Postmaster (Accounts)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF APM (ACCOUNTS) 
(Duty Hours – 10.00 to 18.00 hrs)
1.         To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register in the presence of Postmaster.
2.         To be responsible for maintenance of his system and secrecy of his own password.
3.         To have adequate knowledge of computer and software to make best utilization of
provision made in hardware and software.
4.         To be familiar with Meghdoot (Accountant) as well as with the following packages-
                        (i)         Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-General);
                        (ii)        Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-Pay Bills)
                        (iii)       Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-GPF maintenance)
(iv)             Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-NPC)
(v)               Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-Other Bills)
(vi)             Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-Pension)
(vii)           Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-Banking-Cash)
(viii)         Meghdoot Millennium (Accounts-Schedules)
5.         He will be In-charge of the Accounts Branch of Bhagalpur HO as a whole and will exercise the proper and effective supervision over the work of Accountant and Accounts PAs.
6.         He will perform the following mandatory duties through his computer—
                        (i)         To switch on computer;
                        (ii)        To login as Supervisor;
                        (iii)       To select his User Name;
                        (iv)       To give his password, then click on OK option;
                        (v)        To check the date and time. If it is correct, click on OK option;
                        (vi)       To begin the shift.
(vii)      To allocate for authorization of work to the operators for the day.
(viii)     To check the printed report and sign it (after completion of work);
(ix)       To end the shift.
(x)        To take Backup data.
7.         To get prepared various schedules and tally electronically day to day with other modules of Bhagalpur HO.
8.         To monitor Bank Drawal /Remittances electronically.
9.         To generate electronic transfer of data of rolls prepared to treasury and other modules for payment.
10.       To obtain data of paid rolls and to match payments through memorandum.
11.       To reconcile remittance /drawal items of transaction of HO/SOs.
12.       To maintain Calendar of Returns of his branch and be responsible for timely submission of Returns/Statements/Schedules with completed in all respect.
13.       He will maintain Cash Book and ensure to submit the copy of the same on due date.
14.       He will be responsible for prompt disposal of correspondence and upkeep of records of Account Branch and also for payment of salaries and allowances on due date.
15.       He will be responsible for settlement of Audit Objections raised by Internal Audit as well as by the Audit party/Pay and Account Office.
16.       He will sign the service Books and correspondences of routine nature of his branch.
17.       He will check the Establishment Pay Bills, A. Rolls, Memo of disbursement of Pay and allowance w.r.t. relevant records/documents before releasing them.
18.       He will personally keep watch over adjustment of outstanding advance of pay, LTC, TA, Festival advance, Cycle Advance, HBA, Motorcycle Advance, GPF advance, Car advance etc. and Loans from Co-operative Society etc.
 19.       To check the following Registers electronically—
            (i)         Registers- Allowances
            (ii)        Registers-Advance/Loans
            (iii)       Registers-Other than Advance/Loans
            (iv)       Registers- Out of Account Recovery
            (v)        Registers- Officiating Pay
20.       He will be responsible for maintenance of the following registers-
ü  Retrenchment register
ü  UD Memorandum Register
ü  GDS GIS Premium Register
ü  PLI premium Register
ü   Advance Register
ü  Contingent Expenditure Register
ü  Union Subscription
21.       He will see the pension cases of retiring /retired officials and deal with promptly.
22.       He will maintain ruling files of Account Branch.
23.       He will receive the Dak of his branch and get them disposed of them by the concerned officials.
24.       To do all other duties of APM (Accounts) as prescribed in Postal Manuals and/ or as and when directed by the Postmaster/Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhagalpur Dn.



Assistant Postmaster(Point of Sale)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF APM 
(POINT OF SALE)
(DUTY HOURS- 10.00 to 18.00 HRS)
1.         To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register in the presence of Postmaster. He will supervise the work of all MPCM Counters and Meghdoot (MO Compilation) branch and iMO/eMO payments.
2.         To be responsible for maintenance of his system and secrecy of his own password.
3.         To have adequate knowledge of computer and software to make best utilization of
provision made in hardware and software.
4.         To be familiar with Meghdoot Point of Sale/Meghdoot (MO Compilation) software.
5.         To perform the following duties of Meghdoot (MO compilation) Supervisors as detailed below-
(i)         To add new user, if required.
(ii)        To modify User Details, if required.
(iii)       To begin the day for work to commence.
(iv)       To compare MO Issue and MO Paid figures of SOs arrived through MO Compilation
            with the figures in SO Summary in Meghdoot (Sub Account).
(v)        To make MO Paid Adjustment as and when required as per user manual.
(vi)       To change the Audit or Audit Month, if required.
(vii)      To fetch MO figures from other branches.
(ix)       To change Password at frequent intervals for better security.
6.         To generate fortnightly MO Issue Return by using MO Compilation module.
7.         To generate Date-wise Report Compilation.
8.         To generate Fortnightly MO Paid Returns.
9.         To generate Office-wise Compilation Returns.
10.       To generate Audit-wise Compilation Returns.
11.       He will perform the following mandatory duties of Meghdoot Point of Sale Supervisor-
            (i)         To switch on computer.
            (ii)        To login as Meghdoot Point of Sale Supervisor.
(iii)       To select his User Name.
(iv)       To give his Password, then click on OK option.
            (v)        To check the date and time. If it is correct, click on OK option.
            (vi)       To begin the Shift.
(iii)             To authorize operators for work in ‘work Allocation’ option.
(iv)             To check the printed report and sign it after completion of work.
(v)               To end the Shift.
(vi)             To tack Backup Data (Use any method of Backup)
12.       He will also perform the following Occasional duties of Meghdoot Point of Sale Supervisor-
(i)         To make forcible shift End, if previous day Shift End is not done due to any reason.
(ii)        To delete inactive counter, if user change his computer /node.
(iii)       To change password at frequent intervals.
(iv)       To delete Inactive Counter, if user changes his computer/node.
(v)        To query items if required.
(vi)       To restore Backup data, if required.
(vii)      To create New Operator, if required.
(viii)     To view Users (i.e. Operators) for checking existing users.
(ix)       To modify User (active/enactive) for any administrative reason.
(vii)           To change Office Name and Business Hours for any administrative reason.
(viii)         To disable/enable Additional Services for any administrative reason
(xii)      To give counter-wise Receipt Number, if required.
(xiii)     To add special Journal User, if required.
(xiv)     To add Bank Details for any administrative reason.
(xv)      To revise Tariff, if required.
(xvi)     To change limit, if required.
(xvi)     To add country, if required.
(xvii)    To modify distance of speed Post centre. if required
(xviii)   To modify Foreign Speed Post Centre if required
(xix)     To modify Distance of Express Parcel Post if required  
             (xx)     To add PIN code if required.
            (xxi)     To add/remove APPU country. if required
            (xxii)    To modify UCR purposes.
            (xxiii)   To add/modify/delete/view PLI Details.
            (xxiv)   To add new services, if required.
            (xxv)    To add Holidays/Sunday, if required.
            (xxvi)   To check version, if required.
13.       To verify transactions and include them in HO Summary.
14.       To maintain IPOs stock using the application of Point of Sale package.
15.       To maintain records of PLI Policy details, once data is created for easing the work of
 Operator during subsequent transactions.
16.       To monitor users activities of Counter by using application available in the package.
17.       To take User Report after Shift End is performed.
18.       To configure Tariff/weight/limit etc. when changes are made.
19.       He will monitor over work and performance of PA (MO Compilation) through Meghdoot (MO Compilation) Module and to ensure submission of returns timely.
20.       He will be joint custodian of IPOs with Counter PAs and maintain Stock Register of IPOs for both HO and SOs separately. He will make its proper supply to SOs under his account jurisdiction.
21.       He will sign the Passbook in respect of deposit of PLI premium and Daily List of PLI premium deposited and also sign the Pass book in Philately.
22.       To take a print out of consolidated summary of transaction daily.
23.       He will be responsible for punctual submission of returns all due returns and statements relating to his branch.
24.       He will check Stock Register of IPOs of HO and SOs daily.
25.       He will maintain the General and Special Statistics Register relating to his branch.
26.       He will perform the duties of the Postmaster in connection with sale and supply accounting of blank MO forms.
27.       He will receive the Dak of his branch and dispose of them punctually.
28.       He will remain in-charge of Mails, Registration, Speed post, Parcel branches during the authorized absence of APM (Mails).
29.       He will be custodian of unsold IPOs, blank MO forms, ACG-67 Receipts Book.
30.       He will be responsible for maintenance and sale of application forms in r/o BSSC and other recruitment forms as directed time to time from the department.
31.       he will be custodian of Speed Post passport forms and also responsible for get it checked and submitted to Passport Office properly and maintenance of relevant records.
32.       To do all other duties of APM/DPM as and when directed by Postmaster/SPOs. 


Assistant Postmaster (Mails)

Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Postmaster(Mails)
(Duty Hours- 07.00 to 12.00 and 16.00 to 18.00 Hrs)

  1. To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register.
  2. He will be In- charge of Mail Branch and exercise effective supervision over the following officials-
v  Postal Assistant (Mails),
v  PA(Registration Sorting and Delivery),
v  PA( Speed Post Sorting and Delivery),
v  PA (Parcel and MO Paid),
v  PA(Speed Net),
v  PA(Postman Module),
v  All Postmen and Group-D officials.
  1. To have adequate knowledge of Computer and Software to make best utilization of provisions made in hardware and software as well as ruling laid down in Postal manuals.
  2. He will perform all the duties of Postmaster delegated to him and as prescribed in Postal Manuals in r/o mail branch.
  3. To be responsible for maintenance of computers of his branch and secrecy of his own password.
  4. To maintain Due Mail and Sorting List/Beat List/ Beat Map of Bhagalpur HO
  5. To check Postman Book of Delivery Postmen daily and take necessary action for improving of delivery work.
  6. To ensure that the latest version of the software is being used – viz. Window based system of Meghdoot Millennium (Postman Module).
  7. He will get taken print out of all Incoming eMO twice daily (At 08.30 and 16.00 hrs) and dispose of them properly (e.g. by giving to Postmen beat-wise for delivery same day and despatch to SOs concerned through Mail Bags).
  8. To work as Meghdoot (Postman Module) Supervisor and perform the following mandatory duties-
(i)         To switch on computer
(ii)        To do login as Meghdoot (Postman Module) Supervisor 
(iii)             To select his User Name
(iv)             To give his password, then click on OK option
(v)               To check the date and time, if it is correct click on OK option.
(vi)             To begin the shift.
(vii)           To authorize operators for work in Work Allocation option.
(viii)         To check the printed report and sign it after completion of work
(ix)             To end the shift
(x)               To take backup Data
  1. To be responsible for maintenance timely opening of bags/sorting of articles/ Delivery of articles and despatch of mails.
  2. To be responsible for maintenance of POSTAGE DUE REGISTER of taxed stamping of letters for delivery through Postmen and window delivery.
  3. To be responsible for same day payment of MOs/eMOs received for payment at Bhagalpur HO.
  4. To remain present at the time of opening/closing of mails/Registered bags/Parcel bags.
  5. To be responsible for handing over of all Insured articles to the Treasurer at the close of the day work for safe custody overnight.
  6. To be joint custodian of Insured and VP articles with the Postal Assistant concerned.
  7. To be responsible for safe custody of all the Insured articles in deposit overnight.
  8. To keep round MO stamp/oblong stamp.

v  Labeled bundles /Regd. Bundles are being prepared properly.
v  Accountable articles/bags/documents/vouches of MOs etc. from one PA to another PAs are being transferred under proper receipts.

v  Prompt disposal of correspondence cases
v  Timely submission of RETURNS AND STATEMENTS of his branch.

  1. To examine the VPL and VPP forms on every Saturday and issue VP calls in respect of unadjusted VPL.
  2. To see that the office records and blank forms are kept well arranged and the Stock Register of Forms is kept arranged and old records disposed off are maintained properly.
  3. He will watch over the articles addressed to “Post Restante”
  4. He will personally see the maintenance of General and Special Statistical Register of Mails, Parcel, VPL, VPP and Registration/Speed post branch.   .
  5. He will maintain the Stock Register of Registration Journal, Parcel Journal, VP journal, Insured Journal and supply them to HO/SOs as and when required.

  1. To maintain Casual Leave Sheet of Postman and Group-D officials and put leave case for sanction before the Postmaster.
  2. To maintain Unit Bag Account.
  3. To receive Dak of his branch and dispose of them punctually.
  4. To do all other duties of an Assistant Postmaster as directed by the Postmaster/ Superintendent of Post offices.

Deputy Postmaster

Duties and Responsibilities of DEPUTY  POSTMASTER
(DUTY HOURS- 10.00 TO 18 HRS)

1  To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register.

2. He will be In- charge of all public counter and responsible for proper functioning of SANCHAY
   POST Counters.

3. To have adequate knowledge of Computer and Software to make best utilization of provisions
    made in hardware and software as well as rulings laid down in Postal manuals.

4.  He will perform all the duties of Postmaster delegated to him and as prescribed in Ch. VIII & IX 
    of Postal Manual Vol.VI and DG’s Circular No. 85. 

5.    He will ensure that SANCHAY POST Counters are being used by authorized officials for
     departmental work only.

6.    To be familiar with Sanchay Post software.

7.     To be responsible for maintenance and secrecy of his own password.

8.     To perform the following mandatory duties of Sanchay Post Supervisor-
(i)                 To get the computer started on.
(ii)               To login as ‘Sanchay Post Supervisor’
(iii)             To select his User Name
(iv)             To give his password, then click on OK option.
(v)               To check the date and time, if it is correct click OK option.
(vi)             To shift Begin.
(vii)           To allocate work to the operators for work in option ‘Work Allocation.’
(viii)         To check the printed report, sign it after completion of counter work.
(ix)             To end the shift.
(x)               To take backup DATA (by using any method of Backup).

9.    To ensure that the latest version of Sanchay Post software is being used.

10.  He will perform the following occasional duties of ‘Sanchay Post Supervisors’-
(i)                 To make forcible shift End, if previous day Shift End is not done due to any reason.
(ii)               To change password at frequent intervals.
(iii)             To delete Inactive Counter, if user changes his computer/node.
(iv)             To query items if required.
(v)               To restore Backup data, if required.
(vi)             To create New Operator, if required.
(vii)           To view Users (i.e. Operators) for checking existing users.
(viii)          To modify User (active/enactive) for any administrative reason.
(ix)             To change Office Name and Business Hours for any administrative reason.
(x)               To disable/enable Additional Services for any administrative reason.

11.   To perform all the duties of the Postmaster in r/o Savings Bank except issue of sanction memo. 
      in r/o Deceased Claim cases of all type of SB and PO Certificates and those delegated to 
      Postmaster.                                                                                   (SB Manual Vol. I&II)

12.  He will remain in charge of the office during the authorized absence of Postmaster and perform 
      the duties delegated to him.

13.   He will be custodian of Unsold PO Certificates of all types/Blank Pass Books. He will also 
      remain custodian of PO Certificates discharged at Bhagalpur HO till their dispatch to Postal 
      Account Office.

14.   He will be responsible for maintenance of STOCK REGISTER in r/o all types of PO 
      Certificates and KVP in r/o both Bhagalpur HO and SOs./SB-26/SB28/Agent’s Receipts Book 
      and other accountable receipts and forms.
15.   He will ensure proper and timely supply of cash certificates, Agent’s Receipt Book, Blank Pass
      Book, and other items to SOs.

16.              He will sign Agent’s commission receipt after checking the transaction and ensure submission of vouchers with returns to SBCO.

17.              He will ensure maintenance of records of TDS deducted from Agent’s Commission and submit its return to Account Branch of Bhagalpur HO.

18.              He will be responsible for preparation and submission of RETURNS in r/o all types of accounts to SBCO in time.
19.   He will also be responsible for submission of Returns and Statements of SB/SC/KVP/IVP and 
      disposal of all correspondence r/t his branch.

20.              He will be custodian of Guard Files of PO Cash Certificates and Patras Ledger Cards including silent, used up, closed dormant, transfer/ledger Cards, index cards, Agent’s Receipts Book etc.

21.              He will perform all the duties of Postmaster as laid down in SB Manual Vol. I  in r/o SB/MIS/PPF/RD/NSS/KVP/IVP accounts and exercise proper supervision on the works of PAs(Sanchay Post).

22.              He will be joint custodian of Index Cards/Specimen Signature Book in r/o above types of accounts with PAs (Sanchay Post).

23.              He will exercise check of Long Book and List of Transaction electronically in r/o above accounts and will also be responsible for its submission of to SBCO with returns.                                                        (Rule 10 of POSB Manual Vol. I)

24.              He will check up all transactions with r/t vouchers/journals/long Book/LOT/journals.

25.              He will take consolidated report of all transactions separately viz. SB Deposit/SB Withdrawals so on and submit to treasury for entry in SB cash module.

26.              He will do all other duties and responsibilities of Deputy Postmaster as prescribed in Postal manuals and /or as and when directed by the Postmaster/Superintendent of Post Offices, Bhagalpur Dn, Bhagalpur.
  

Postmaster (HSG-I,IPO Line)

Duties and Responsibilities of Postmaster

(Duty Hours- 08.00 to 12.00 hrs and 16.00 to 19.00 hrs.) 

1. To be in-charge of Bhagalpur HO.

2. To maintain punctuality in office and see that the office alongwith all infrastructures are
    neat and clean.

3. To obtaiin signature of all Group-C officials on Attendance Register with the help of 
    PA(Corr.) 

4. On coming to the office, he will get the following mandatory work/duties/checks done by the
    System Administrator in his presence-
    (i) To see the UPS is switched on and working properly.
    (ii) To switch on UPS Output MCB(after UPS on).
    (iii) To switch on UPS on the Output Power Sockets of SERVER.
    (iv) To swich on the SERVER and Hub(Switch) 
    (v) To give the SERVER " ADMINSTRATOR" password.

5. While leaving the office, he will get the following mandatory works/duties/checks done by 
    the System Administrator- 
    (i) To see that Nodes should be properly SHUT DOWN (by users).
    (ii) To see that Output Power Shockets of Nodes are switched off (by users)
    (iii) To shut down the SERVER.
    (iv) To switch off the Output Sockets of SERVER and HUBs.
    (v) To switch off Output MCB Off (before UPS off standby).
    (vi) To see that UPS is ON standby mode(Charging mode)   
    (vii) Never down the UPS Input MCB except for repairing work.
6. He will form the following occasional duties of " Point of Sale Administrator" -
    (i) To cancel transaction after proper verification of Error Book by Supervisor under entry in 
         Error Book.
    (ii) To change Admin Password, if required under entry in prescribed register.
    (iii) To delete data, if required under entry in register.
    (iv) To view/print Supervisor Log Information, if required under entry in prescribed register.
    (v) To view Supervisor option, if required.
    (vi) To add New Supervisor, if required.
    (vii) To modify (inactive/active) Supr and Operator for any administrative reason.
    (viii) To modify "USER" (designation) Super and Operator for any administrative reason.
    (ix) To modify User Password Supr and Operator, if required under entry in Error Book.
7. To maintain the following registers personally and be responsible for their personal custody
    with the help of System Administrator-
    (i) Stock Register of Equipments.
    (ii) History Sheet of equipments
    (iii) History Sheet of UPS
    (iv) Pasword Protection Register
    (v) Backup Sheet
8. To be responsible for maintenance and secrecy of his own password.
9. To exercise general supervision over all branches including SBCO/All stsff.
10. To be joint custodian of cash, stamps and valuables kept in treasury with the Heead 
      Treasurer and Assistant Treasurers and keep one set of keys in his personal custody.

11. He will be custodian of Register ACG-53(.............)      (Rule-8 of P&T FHB Vol.II)
12. He will be custodian of Savings Certificates of Denomination of Rs. 50,000/- which will be
     issued/discharged under his own signature.
13. He will be also custodian of Duplicate Certificates.
14. He will perform all duties of Postmaster in Treasury and Account branches except those
     delgated to APM (Account) and APM (Sub Account)                 (FHB Vol.II)
15. He will be responsible to maintain and keep in safe custody of DATA ENTRY REGISTER as
      prescribed by the Department.
16. He will be responsible for compliance ofInspection/Visit Remarks received from Postal
     Authority and maintenance of ORDER BOOK.
17. He will also maintenance of the following registers and books -
     (i) Attendance Register of Group-C staff, Casual Leave Sheet and Postmasters' Order Book
         with the help of Postal Assistant (Corr.).
     (ii) Balance Sheet in HO Cash Book and Deposit Account with the help of Head Treasurer.
18. He will be responsible for maintenance of CALENDAR OF RETURNS and for submission of
     all due returns/statements on due date.
19. He will be responsible for maintenance of up-to-date GRADATION LIST in r/o Head 
     Postmen/Cash Overseers/Sorting Postmen/Postmen/Multi-tasking Staff.
20. He will be responsible for maintenance of CR files and Memo of Service Verification in r/o  
      Head Postmen/Cash Overseers/Sorting Postmen/Postmen/Multi-tasking Staff.
21. He will be custodian of Cheque Books and will issue cheques as and when required by the
      Deputy Postmaster and Assistant Postmasters.
22. He will check the DIRIES submitted by Public Relation Inspector (Post Offices)/ Cash
      Overseers. 
23. He will carry out the prescribed checks and tests in r/o mails/sorting/delivery.
24. He will maintain NOMINAL ROLL of Group-C staff personally and keep it uptodate as
      prescribed in Postal Manuals.
25. He will the following books and registers once in a month and ensure prompt settlement-
     (i) ERROR BOOKS 
     (ii) ACCOUNT TRANSFER REGISTER
     (iii) SPECIAL ERROR BOOKS
     (iv) OBJECTION REGISTER of SB branch
 26. He will be responsible for proper financing of Sub Post Offices under his account
       jurisdiction and supply of Postage stamps and stationeries.
27. He will be personally responsible for maintenance of Register of Bank Draft/Cheques/
      Treasury Passbook/ HO Summary/ Cash Book.
28.  He will be personally responsible for maintenance of Registers/files of Deceased Claims

29 To do all other duties of a Postmaster (HSG-I) as prescribed in Postal Manuals and/or as and
     when directed by the Divisional Superintendent.
