PA(Speednet)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF POSTAL ASSISTANT
(SPEED POST SORTING AND DELIVERY)
(Duty Hours – 07.00 to 11.00 hrs and 15.00 to 18.00 hrs)

1.         To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register in the presence of Postmaster.
2.         To be responsible for maintenance and secrecy of his own password, if any..
3.         To have adequate knowledge of computer and software to make best utilization of provision made in hardware and software.
4.         To be familiar with all Postman and Speed Net modules being used in Post Offices.
5.         To ensure that the latest version of the software is being used –viz. Window based system Meghdoot Millennium (Postman & Speed net)
6.         To do all the duties of a Postal Assistant in r/o Mails and Delivery branch.
7.         To have adequate knowledge of Route List/Beat Map as well as Due Mail and Sorting List of Bhagalpur HO.
8.         To open all the Speed Post bags received from different Speed post centers through Bhagalpur RMS and receive the articles as per Speed Post List tallied.
9,         To note down the discrepancies/about mis-sent articles and submit report to the concerned office with a copy to Superintendent of Post offices through the Postmaster.
10.       To sort out the Speed Post articles as per Sorting Diagram/ Sorting List of Bhagalpur HO and get them closed in SP bags with the help of Group-D on duty and despatch as per Due Mail list.
11.       To be responsible for
(i)         Proper filing and upkeep of records of his branch.
(ii)        Maintenance of Speed Post Abstract
(iii)       Delivery of Speed Post articles.
(iv)       Transfer of EPP articles to PA (Parcel Delivery)
(v)        Maintenance of Statistical Register of Speed Post articles.
(vi)       Maintenance of ruling files and submission of returns, if any r/t his branch.
(vii)      Compliance of enquiry cases relating to Speed Post articles as and when required by APM/ System Admin/PM
12.       To all other duties of a PA as and when required of him by APM/PM.

7.         To have adequate knowledge of Route List/Beat Map as well as Due Mail and Sorting List of Bhagalpur HO.
8.         To receive all speed post articles duly sorted out from PA (Speed Post Sorting and Delivery) and enter the data Beat-wise and SO-wise through the system/Scanner.
9.         To issue and take print out of Deliver List Beat-wise and hand over to the PA (Speed Post Sorting and Delivery).
10.       To fetch /accept all articles from PAs (Point of Sale) and other offices/Pickup boys, include them in Despatch List, generate Speed Post manifest, Mail List and TB List.
11.       To fetch data relating to the articles, manual entries relating thereto, transmit data of articles booked /handled, receipt of data of articles received for delivery with the help of communication module.
12.       To handle with BNPL articles separately, to maintain the accounts of these customers, to prepare periodical bills and to accept payment.
13.       To generate Speed Post Abstract daily and handed over to PA (Speed Post Sorting and Delivery).
14.       To accept returns from Postmen and enter the data in the system.
15.       To see that automatic carry over of articles in deposit and inclusion in respective beats for next day has been done   
16.       To all other duties of a PA as and when required of him by APM/PM.
