PA (Sanchay Post Counter)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF POSTAL ASSISTANT
(SANCHAY POST COUNTER NO. 1 TO 4)
(Duty Hours –10.00 to 18.00 hrs)
1.         To attend the office punctually and put his signature on Attendance Register in the presence of Postmaster.
2.         To be responsible for maintenance and secrecy of his own password, if any..
3.         To have adequate knowledge of computer and software to make best utilization of provision made in hardware and software.
4.         To be familiar with Sanchay Post module being used in Post Offices.
5.         To ensure that the latest version of the software is being used –viz. SANCHAY POST.
6.         To perform online transaction of savings bank operation at the counter.
7.         To have adequate knowledge of Departmental Rulings regarding Post Office Savings Bank.
8.         He will perform the following work of all types of SB Accounts i.e. SB/TD/RD/MIS/PPF/Sr. Citizen’s Scheme by using the different options available in the Sanchay Post package-
v  To accept Cash deposit/Cheque transaction.
v  To make withdrawals/loans of all types.
v  To open New Account and scan specimen signature.
v  To close account.
v  To view the LOT.
v  To transfer account (Inward/outward)
v  To make revival of silent account
v  To issue Cheque Book.
v  To issue passbook electronically.
v  To register nomination.
v  To make RD Pay Roll transaction.
v  To issue NSC/KVP.
v  To make automatic transfer of interest of MIS to SB Account.
v  To make pledging and releasing of certificates.
v  To make encashment of certificates.
v  To view discharge journals.
v  To transfer from one Post Office to another Post Office.
v  To issue duplicate Pass Book/Certificates
v  To make entry of Part-II/Part-III transactions and generate list of such transaction for despatch to concerned office.
9.                  To keep records regarding recovery of Income Tax from SB Agents/MPKBY.
10.              To generate different type of returns/ schedules/reports and submit to DPM in time.
11.       To do all other duties of a Postal Assistant as prescribed in Postal Manuals and/ or as and when directed by the APM/PM.
